Buckminster Fuller was the one who pointed out how remarkable the cuboctahedron is. In many ways it is more important than the more famous 'Platonic Solids'. Fuller called it the 'zero point', the perfect balance between positive and negative forces. The form is bounded by 8 triangles and 6 squares.
